Now faith s the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Dear Friends:
May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make permanent home) in your hearts! Ma you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love.
Ephesians 3:17 (amp)

It is by living out our faith that we become rooted in the security of Gods plan. Living by faith is for everyone, but living by faith takes work, dedication and by the way is a life time adventure! Sadly many people quit living by faith. My prayer is that if you have checked out that you will check back in and tap in to the eternal source of love.

Therefore let no one sit in judgment on you in matters of food and drink, or with regard to a feast day or a New Moon or a Sabbath. Such things are only shadows of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Let no one defraud you by acting as an umpire and declaring you unworthy and disqualifying you for the prize ...
Colossians 2:16-18

We have been giving a powerful opportunity to share the love of God without judgement, without condemnation because we know what it feels like to be kicked out, shut out and told we are not worthy.... Dear Friends:
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Psalm 51:12

Restoration is definitely a process! I think a old table or furniture ... to restore it you will strip away of the old, sand it down to bare wood, buff it out all of this before something new is applied. Restore us God even if we may not like the process!

Dear Friends:
These things I remember as I pour out my soul: how I used to go with the multitude, leading the procession to the house of God, with shouts of joy and thanksgiving among the festive throng.
Psalm 42:4

I am so thankful for the shouts of joy! I am thankful for the ability to join with a commuity of faith and worship!

Daily Devotion

Dear Friends:
For all the peoples [now] walk every one in the name of their god, but we will walk in the name of the Sovereign our God forever and ever. In that days says the Sovereign God I will assemble the lame and I will gather those who have been drive away and those whom I have afflicted. And I will make the lame a remnant and those who were cast off a strong nation; and God shall reign over them forever ...
Micah 4:5-7a

How many times has our community but cut off, left out, told to don't ask don't tell ...
In the end God will reign over us and bring us in and we will be made a strong nation. I pray for unity in our communities ...

Dear Friends:
But the just shall live by faith and if you draw back and shrink in fear My soul has no delight or pleasure in them. But our way is not that of those who draw back but we are of those who believe and by faith preserve the soul.
Hebrews 10:38-39

Using faith is not checking out when the going get tough. Using faith is not taking a break when God is dealing with you. Using faith is putting one foot in front of the other even when you don't feel like doing it. Using faith does not draw back but faith preserves and grows so that the next time you don't have to go through the same old things!

Daily Devotion

Dear Friends:
Beloved, do not imitate evil, but imitate good. The person who does good is of God: the one who does evil has not seen (discerned or experienced) God [has enjoyed no vision of God and does not know God at all].
3 John 11 (amp)

We see evil and it is not pleasing. We may experience it on some levels ... and it is not pleasing. We must do our best to show goodness, mercy and kindness in all of our actions. God teach us Your ways of peace so that we may imitate You in our lives.

Dear Friends:
And what this love consists in is this: that we live and walk in accordance with and guided by Gods commandments (God orders, ordinances, precepts, teachings). This is the commandment, as you have heard from the beginning, that you continue to walk in love [guided by it and following it].
2 John Verse 6

What's love got to do with it?

Dear Friends:
For the [true] love of God is this: that we do Gods commands [keep Gods ordinances and are mindful of God precepts and teaching.] And these orders of God are not irksome (burdensome, oppressive, or grievous).
1 John 5:3 (amp)

Doing the will of God takes practice! Many times the other options look easier or better. But keeping the commands of God is always the way of love, hope, justice and doing what is right even if no one is looking.

Dear Friends:
Now this is the confidence that we have in God, that if we ask anything according to Gods will, God hears us.
1 John 5:14

Because the power of prayer is made possible by Gods answer, we would do well to consider thoughtfully what we ask for. I have learned from my own experience that we always get what we need and sometimes what we've asked for is not at all what we need.
Happy prayers ...

Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in MY house, and prove Me now by it, says the Sovereign God of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Malachi 3:10

And this is the message [the message of promise] which we have heard from God and are now reporting to you: God is Light, and there is no darkness in God at all [no not in any way].
1 John 1:5 (amp)

God sometimes gets a bad rap! I have heard a lot of negative things lately! What is amazing to me is that we look toward the light (God) then we would not focus so much on all the negative! Where is your focus been lately?

Dear Friends:

"If we had no faults, we should not take pleasure in noting those of others."
Francois VI, duc de La Rochefoucauld

I am reminded of the story in scripture of the woman caught in adultery ... and those getting ready to stone her ... Jesus bends down and draws something on the ground then tells them ... the one without sin cast the first stone ... Of course they leave without casting a stone ... great moral. May we too be mindful of this.

Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Psalm 51:11

We have all fallen short of Gods glory ... in other words we have sin. Our sin however does not have to keep us distant from God. If we are willing to turn toward Jesus we will be forgiven! Help us God to understand we don't have to go it alone!

Dear Friends:

As the heaven are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:9

We learn things sometimes by trial and error. We learn by doing, reading, seeing and many other ways. Even in our understanding of life, things, and processes ... Gods ways are higher. If I could just elevate my thoughts toward understanding God I would grow by leaps and bounds. May it be so ...

The person who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
James 1:6

Doubt is something that can creep in slowly and take over. Doubt can also hit you like a ton of bricks ... One way to overcome this doubt is to "act as if" ... When you move toward the light of God you will be given all that you need. Don't let doubt have an inch in your life! Remember you can do all things through Christ!

Do not complain brothers and sisters against one another, so that you [yourselves] may not be judged. Look! The judge is [already] standing at the very door.
James 5:9 (amp)

How many times have we complained about someone else? Their lack of action, faith or concern? When we complain about others we bring judgement upon our own lives. Maybe instead of complaining we can ask God for wisdom and direction to help people who may be struggling.
