But the voice answered a second time from heaven, What God has cleansed and pronounced clean, do not you defile and profane by regarding or calling it common or unhallowed or unclean.
Acts 11:9
God has instructed through out history about bring in those who may be different or considered on the fringes. These are the very people God has gifted and granted inclusion. What God has called holy is people who may be different!

Daily Devotion
"Dear Friends:
But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.
Matthew 17:21
The disciples were having a hard time with the evil spirit and when Jesus came along he healed the boy. Jesus reminds them that prayer and fasting is needed to overcome this kind of adversity. And in the previous verse Jesus told them nothing will be impossible to you! When was the last time you had a prayer and fasting day? I encourage you to set aside some time to fast and pray it will help you get closer to God.

Acquaint now yourself with God [agree with God and show yourself to be conformed to Gods will] and be at peace; by that [you shall prosper and great] good shall come to you.

This scripture texts reminds me to get back to the basics of knowing God personally. When we acquaint ourselves with God we will find the peace we need and our lives will prosper. I am reminded of the bumper sticker that says 'know God know peace, no God no peace'!

And show your own self in all respect, to be a pattern and a model of good deeds and works, teaching what is unadulterated, showing gravity [having the strictest regard for truth and purity of motive], with dignity and seriousness.

How are you doing with the integrity issues of your life? It may be difficult at times to keep your actions, as actions of integrity especially when others are 'acting' out. It is however, of utmost importance that you keep your motives pure. Check yourself and make the necessary corrections.

Do not complain, my friends against one another, so that you [yourselves] may not be judged. Look! The Judge is [already] standing at the very door.

Oh my goodness ... this is a great reminder not to complain about other people when they don't do what you think they should be doing! When I remember to pray for the empowering of the Spirit and not judgement, great things can happen. Judging gets us no were quick! Start Praying!

Paying attention to God requires, reading scripture, prayer, listening, communion with the saints, and obedience. [What would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see Gods goodness in the land of the living! Wait and hope for and expect God; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect God.

I know that waiting for God can be a bit on the scary side at times! I think that is why the Psalmist encourages us to be brave and keep up our faith and courage for those difficult times! We may have been taught not to ask for prayers for ourselves but I believe we can come boldly before God to obtain Gods mercy and healing. It is up to God to answer our prayers and God always does, even if we don't always like the answer. I invite you with humility and boldness to approach Gods throne in prayer!

So repent of this depravity and wickedness of yours and pray to God that, if possible, this contriving thought and purpose of your heart may be removed and disregarded and forgiven you.

It is healing to let go of bitterness and allow the Spirit of God to give you purpose. Are you using your life for the good things of God? If not you can begin right now. God we come before you and ask for your grace to surround us as we lay aside our shortcomings, sins, and failures. We thank you for hearing and answering our prayers.

Hope in God teaches us to rejoice even when difficulty comes! When we dwell in the hope of Christ we can be assured that we are secure in the mighty hands of God. Pitch your hope tent and drive the stakes in deep!"
