"Dear Friends:
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything by prayer and petition (definite requests) with thanksgiving continue to make your wants known to God.
Philippians 4:6
I for one need to be reminded not to worry or fret about 'things'. Things have a way of getting in the way of Gods will when we get distracted by them. The answer ... prayer and petition, doing what you know to do, allowing God to be first place and pray some more!

"Dear Friends:
Keep justice, do and use righteousness (conformity to the will of God which brings salvation) for My salvation is soon to come and My righteousness (My rightness and justice) to be revealed.
Isaiah 56:1
Gods salvation is available for every person who will receive it. I've heard so many negative things about the word salvation but I believe it is a powerful and loving word that God has given. I believe we must take back word and make it positive. Justice work is about that ... May God be revealed in you.

"Dear Friends:
Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [against God] and questioning and doubting [among yourselves].
Philippians 2:14
Many times those who grumble and complain don't want to do anything except that! What are you doing that is part of the solution instead of creating more turmoil or problems? Think about your actions lately ...

"Dear Friends:
For as the human body apart from the spirit is lifeless, so faith apart from [its] works of obedience is also dead.
James 2:26
In James 2 we read about some people that made a difference by using actions of their faith. It was not convenient or even safe but they chose to live by faith in action. How about you are you professing your faith with words and actions? Or are you saying you have faith but have not yet moved to action? I encourage you to move into action because we learned that faith without works is dead.

"Dear Friends:
... If you will diligently listen to the voice of your God and do what is right in Gods sight, and will listen to and obey Gods commandments and keep all of Gods statues, I ill put none of the diseases upon you which I brought upon the Egyptians, for I am the Sovereign God who heals you.
Exodus 15:26 (amp)
Seeking healing is more than going to the doctor ... you usually do what the doctor tells you to do don't you? Gods healing is like that in some ways because we must do what we can to obey and keep the spiritual commitments of God. Healing is within Gods power and I seek Gods healing in my life you can do the same!

"Dear Friends:
O God, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is faint for You, in a dray and weary land where no water is.
Psalms 63:1
Are you playing hide and seek with God?
Does your inner self wander and wonder? Then blame God for the struggle ... when you have been hiding from the reality of all of Gods love ... God is always present and will not hide from You and I encourage you not to hide from God.

Remind people to be submissive to [their] magistrates and authorities, to be obedient, to be prepared and willing to do any upright and honorable work. To slander or abuse or speak evil of no one, to avoid being contentious to be forbearing (yielding, gentle, and conciliatory) , and to show unqualified courtesy toward everyone.
Titus 3:1-2
Being submissive does not mean being a door mat for others. If we are obedient and prepared for the work we are called to do then we will be able to stand firm and be clear with acceptable and healthy boundaries. In all of this we still need to extend courtesy to others.

As each of you has received a gift (a particular spiritual talent, a gracious divine endowment), employ it for one another as [befits] good trustees of God's many-sided grace [faithful stewards of the extremely diverse powers and gifts granted to Christians by unmerited favor]
1 Peter 4:10
Each one of us has been given spiritual talents by God to use to benefit others. What have you done lately with the gifts you have been given? God has some unmerited favor to pour over you and you will be blessed.
As a pastor I know the struggle of trying to empower people to see beyond their own needs to help others, I pray that God would open your eyes to the areas of service where you are needed and have the ability to serve! Amen
